A stream mitigation project is being constructed in a City park known as the Brookshire Open Space. This project will provide for rock checks installed across the channel to create a stable channel slope. This work will supplement previous grade control work in the stream. Project plans call for the removal of non-native species (such as honeysuckle) and the planting of native species to improve the habitat within the riparian corridor.
During construction, the following trail points of access will be closed: Maple Drive, 161st Street, 160th Street and the trail intersection point at the playground between 160th Street and Wilden Drive.
Project Status Update - 5/10/2018
The project started March 29th and is expected to be completed the first week in June.
